What sorting is
Sorting takes a received waste item and:
Assigns it to a category, or
Splits it into multiple categorised items
Why sort waste
Separate mixed loads into distinct streams
Improve reporting by category
Support processing/treatment workflows
Demonstrate segregation for compliance
When sorting is required
If the site setting mustSortWaste is enabled:
Jobs cannot be finalised until required sorting is completed
Sorting groups
Sorting groups are site-specific categories (e.g. Cardboard, Plastic, Metal, Organic). They’re managed in Site Settings → Sorting.
