Editing a Job

What you can change depends on job status. Some fields lock to protect audit history and completed work.

You cannot change the customer after a job is created.

Cancel a job

From the job details page, you can cancel a job while it is still Confirmed (before collection has progressed). Cancelled jobs cannot be edited. A cancellation reason is recorded.

Can always edit (while the job is not Closed or Cancelled)

  • Description

  • Sales items (add, edit, or remove lines)

Can edit when the job is Confirmed

  • Add collection items

  • Edit tasks that are still Unscheduled or Scheduled (including allocations, schedule preferences, and recurrence)

  • Tags (where shown on the edit flow)

Tasks that are already Collected, Completed, or Cancelled are locked on the tasks step.

Can edit when the job is In Progress

  • Description and sales items

  • Limited changes to tasks and items that are not yet collected or locked by task status

  • Tags on the job details view (where enabled)

Quantity and waste-code fields on items may lock once items are collected, received, or assigned to tasks that have started.

Can edit when the job is Completed

  • Description

  • Sales items

  • Tags

Tasks and manifest collection items are generally locked to preserve the record of what was done.

Can edit when the job is Closed

  • Add notes and attachments only

Notes and attachments added after close cannot be deleted.

Can edit when the job is Cancelled

  • Nothing can be edited
