Generating and exporting reports

Reports are ready-made views of your operational data in WasteConnect. Instead of building spreadsheets yourself, you open a report template, choose the job, customer, or site it applies to (and dates or other options when required), and review or download the output.

Report templates are set up per organisation, not as a global catalogue every customer shares. What you see in Reports is the set of templates WasteConnect has built and enabled for your organisation (and which sites they apply to).

What reports can cover

Templates are grouped by the main record they focus on:

Area

Typical use

Job

Summaries, paperwork, or metrics for a single job (for example transport, waste lines, or compliance detail).

Customer

Roll-ups across that customer’s jobs or sites over a period.

Site

Activity or metrics for your organisation site (your facility or depot in WasteConnect), often with a date range.

Individual templates vary: some are view-only in the browser; some support Download PDF. Names and descriptions on each card explain what that report is for.

Who sets up reports

Report templates-layout, sections, charts, which fields appear, and PDF export-are created and maintained by WasteConnect. Templates are added on request for each organisation; your team cannot add or edit them from the Reports screen.

Contact WasteConnect to discuss what you need and to develop report templates for your organisation-whether that is a new report, changes to an existing one, or enabling reporting for additional sites.

Your organisation logo (under Settings → Organisation) may appear on reports when a template is configured to use it.

When you see Reports

Reports appears in the sidebar when your site has reporting enabled. Drivers do not see Reports and cannot run templates.

Staff roles such as Admin, Operations Manager, and Dispatcher can browse templates and generate reports when reporting is enabled for the site.

Generate a report

From the Reports list

  1. Open Reports in the sidebar.

  2. Browse templates under Job, Customer, or Site.

  3. Use Search reports to filter by name or description.

  4. Select a template, then:

    • Choose the job, customer, or site the template requires (site-scoped reports use the site you are currently working in).

    • Set a date range or other report parameters when the template asks for them.

  5. Select Generate Report and review the result. Change context, dates, or parameters and select Generate Report again to refresh.

Report settings are reflected in the page URL, so you can bookmark or share a link with colleagues who have access to the same site.

For job reports, WasteConnect may warn you if the job is not yet completed, because figures can still change.

From a job or customer

On a job or customer detail page (desktop), open the actions menu and choose Generate Report. Pick a template scoped to jobs or customers; the report opens with that record already selected.

Generate Report is not available for Cancelled jobs.

Export to PDF

When a template supports PDF export, use Download PDF from the actions menu on the report page. The file name is set by the template (often including the job or customer reference and date).

If Download PDF is unavailable, the template may be browser-only-contact WasteConnect if you need a PDF for that report.

Archived templates

On the Reports list, Show Archived lists templates that are no longer run. Archived templates cannot be generated.

Print Task PDFs on a job detail page is separate from Reports: it prints driver task paperwork for that job, not a configurable report template.
