Site settings configure how a single facility operates in WasteConnect. Data you maintain here applies only to the site selected in the sidebar. Catalogues and lists you build in site settings are reused when staff create jobs, schedule tasks, manage inventory, and invoice.
Who can open Site settings
Expand Settings and choose Site when you are an organisation admin and a site is selected. If you do not have permission, WasteConnect redirects you to My Profile or shows Access denied.
Non-admin users do not see Site under Settings; they still switch sites from the sidebar to work in a different facility.
Open Site settings
Select the correct site in the sidebar, then go to Settings → Site. Use the tabs at the top to move between areas. The tab you choose is remembered in the address bar, so you can bookmark a specific area (for example Members).
Which tabs you see
Not every site shows every tab. WasteConnect enables tabs based on how your facility is set up:
Tab | When it appears |
Configuration, Members, Vehicles, pre-defined catalogues, Tags | All sites (for admins) |
Assets | Site has asset management enabled |
Waste Codes | Site handles regulated waste |
Pre-defined waste items (waste code / DG columns) | Extra columns appear when your site handles regulated waste |
To change site name, address, or capabilities such as regulated waste, contact WasteConnect; those values are set when the site is provisioned.
Configuration
From WasteConnect Sidebar: Settings → Site → Configuration
Review read-only site name and address, then maintain site contact details your team uses on operational flows.
Site information
Site name and address are displayed for reference. They cannot be edited from this screen.
Site contact
Select Edit contact to update contact email and contact phone (Australian format, including area code for landlines). Leave a field blank to clear it. Select Save or Cancel to discard changes.
Site contact is separate from organisation contact on Settings → Organisation → General. Customer confirmation emails for scheduled tasks use organisation notification settings (Settings → Organisation → Customer notifications), not site contact.
Where site contact is used:
Prefills contact fields when creating jobs (for example origin or customer-related contact email).
Can prefill destination contact details on receival tasks when your site requires receival confirmation.
Members
From WasteConnect Sidebar: Settings → Site → Members
Control which users can select this site in the sidebar. Organisation membership alone is not enough; a user also needs a site membership (except organisation admins, who can access all sites by role).
View members
The table lists everyone with access to the current site: name, email, organisation role, when they were added, and site access:
All Sites (Role-Based): organisation admin (or platform admin). These users are not removed from individual sites; change their role under Settings → Organisation → User management if needed.
This Site Only: explicit site membership.
Add a member
Select Add Member (shown when at least one organisation user is not yet on this site).
Choose a user from the list (only users already in your organisation appear).
Select Add to Site.
To invite someone who is not in the list yet, add them under Organisation users and roles first, then return to Members.
Remove a member
For users with This Site Only access, select Remove. They keep their organisation account but lose access to this facility until you add them again.
To manage members on another facility, use Settings → Organisation → Sites and Manage on the site you need, or switch sites and open Settings → Site → Members.
Vehicles
From WasteConnect Sidebar: Settings → Site → Vehicles
Maintain the fleet used when assigning driver and vehicle on the calendar, map, and task workflows.
Add or edit a vehicle
Select Add Vehicle or Edit on a row. Each vehicle needs a vehicle name (how staff recognise it in lists) and registration. Save to apply changes site-wide.
Active and archived vehicles
Active vehicles appear in assignment dropdowns.
Turn on Show archived vehicles to see retired records.
Edit updates details; remove uses a confirmation that explains whether the vehicle will be deleted or archived. Vehicles linked to tasks are usually archived instead of deleted; open tasks may be unassigned from that vehicle when you archive.
Restore an archived vehicle with Unarchive when shown.
Pre-defined waste items
From WasteConnect Sidebar: Settings → Site → Pre-Defined Waste Items
Pre-defined waste items are common collection lines you reuse on jobs. They speed up the job wizard and keep waste codes, units, and quantities consistent.
Browse and search
Use Search items to find items by name. Turn on Show archived items to include retired items.
Add or edit an item
Select Add Item or Edit. Typical fields:
Name and description
Quantity, unit, and optional lock quantity (staff may not change quantity on the job when locked)
Waste code and dangerous goods (DG) details when your site handles regulated waste
Save the item. It appears in pickers when adding collection items on a job.
Remove an item
Select Delete on an active row to remove it from pickers. Archived items cannot be deleted from the list; use Show archived items to review them.
Pre-defined sales items
From WasteConnect Sidebar: Settings → Site → Pre-Defined Sales Items
Standard pricing lines for invoicing: labour, fees, or common charge lines you add to many jobs.
Browse and search
Use Search items to find items by name. Turn on Show archived items to include archived items.
Add or edit a sales line
Select Add Item or Edit. Set name, description, price per unit, and optional default quantity.
Use lock price per unit or lock quantity when jobs should inherit fixed values staff cannot change later.
Saved lines are selectable when adding sales items on a job.
Pre-defined destinations
From WasteConnect Sidebar: Settings → Site → Pre-Defined Destinations
Reusable drop-off or receival locations for transport when waste is not received at your current site (for example third-party processors or customer sites you visit often).
Browse and search
Search by name or address fields. Use pagination for long lists.
Add or edit a destination
Select Add Destination or Edit. Enter:
Name
Address (use address search to resolve a valid location)
Optional contact name, phone, and email
On the job, choosing a pre-defined destination fills destination address and contact fields on the relevant transport tasks.
Assets
From WasteConnect Sidebar: Settings → Site → Assets
Shown when your site has asset management enabled. Track physical equipment such as skip bins, excavators, forklifts, trailers, and holding tanks.
Asset list
Filter by type, search by identifier, and paginate results. Show archived includes retired assets.
Add or edit an asset
Select Add Asset or Edit. Record identifier, description, type, optional sub-type, and status (for example Available, In use, Maintenance). Expand Asset Sub-Type Management on the same tab to add sizes or variants per asset type before assigning them on assets. To request a new asset type beyond the built-in list, contact WasteConnect.
Assets tie into job and field workflows where your site uses them (for example delivery or pickup of bins). Keep statuses current so dispatch sees what is available.
Waste codes
From WasteConnect Sidebar: Settings → Site → Waste Codes
Shown when your site handles regulated waste. This tab defines which classification codes your facility is allowed to use, not every code in the national list, only the subset you enable for this site.
View allowed codes
The grid lists code and description for each allowed waste code.
Change the allowed set
Select Manage Waste Codes. WasteConnect loads codes for your site’s state (from the site address). Search the list, tick or untick codes, then save. Job lines, manifests, and compliance flows only offer codes you allow here.
Configure Waste codes before building pre-defined waste items that reference specific codes.
Tags
From WasteConnect Sidebar: Settings → Site → Tags
Site-scoped labels for jobs and tasks. See Notes, attachments, and tags for how tags appear on job and task screens.
Add or edit a tag
Select Add Tag or Edit on a row. Set name and colour, then save. Tags are available in tag pickers across jobs and tasks for this site only.
Delete a tag
Select Delete, confirm, then remove. Deleting a tag does not delete jobs; it removes the label from future pickers (existing assignments may need to be updated on open work).
